2010 All*Star Game Party

Another adventure? Why, yes! With your partner-in-crime, Kim? Of course! It has to do with baseball, doesn’t it? Really???  You even have to ask that question???  OF COURSE IT HAS TO DO WITH BASEBALL!!!!

This time we went to Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar and Grill for an amazingly fun All*Star party!  We arrived just before 7:00pm on July 13th, and the fun began almost instantly.  Having gone to JRSB&G as often as we have, the staff knows us, and greets us with hugs and kisses.  {what a way to walk into a place, huh?}  We were with two of Kim’s friends, Matty and Sean, and met up with our buddy Paul once we were inside.

Jerry Remy, Trish from RemDawg Nation, John O’Rourke and the entire JRSB&G staff did a wonderful job of putting this event together.  When we walked in, there was a silent auction with 2 autographed baseballs {Youk and Pedey} and 2 autographed jerseys {Wake and Ellsbury}.   Upon being seated, we learned about the  50/50 raffle and other raffles throughout the course of the evening with the proceeds going to The Red Sox Foundation.  A buffet of mini burgers, ribs, cheesecake, lemon cake, and various other munchie foods for the pregame  was feet away from the 2004 and 2007 World Series Trophies.

Jerry Remy was an extremely gracious host for the evening.  He sat on a stool  in front of the bar with a microphone and fielded questions from the crowd.  He then he then stayed in that spot signing autographs and taking photos with seemingly every guest in his restaurant.  *tip of the cap* to Jerry Remy for being a wicked good sport and making time for every one of his fans!  Thank you, Mr. Remy! 🙂

Along with Jerry, there was Bob Lobel, Ken Hodge, Luis Tiant and Wally The Green Monstah!  Although I didn’t get to talk to Bob Lobel or Ken Hodge, I had the amazing honor of meeting Luis Tiant for the first time in my life.  He is a very sweet man with a great sense of humor.  Kim and I spoke with him for quite a while and he was kind enough to not only take a photo with us, but he let Kim wear his WS ring!  {The gentleman who was in charge of the WS trophies also had a ring, and he let me wear his.}

Aside from meeting Jerry and El Tiante, Wally the Green Monstah was my next favorite!!! He {or she} was quite jovial and very friendly.  Although Wally is forbidden from speaking, he made the five of us laugh with his antics. {We never did find out who was playing Wally, but whoever you were…thanks for the laughs!}

Talking and laughing, cheering and toasting, smiling and posing….that pretty much sums up the evening.  If you haven’t been to Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill yet, what are you waiting for?  Every time I have gone there, I have had an amazing time.  The hostesses, wait staff, kitchen crew and security are all top-notch.  You will be hard pressed to find a better group of people in one place!  {and no, they are not paying me to say this!}

Thanks to Kim, Paul, Matty and Sean for a wonderfully fun night!  You guys are the BEST!  As for my next adventure with my partner-in-crime, Kim…we may have to bring Wake some potato salad!  😉
